Letol Scarves

Parlez- vous Letol?

Hello my beautiful friends. I hope you are all healthy and doing well. As the weather is getting colder, it is time to bundle up and a new scarf may be just what you need for warmth or for a zoom meeting to brighten up your look. I recently received a new shipment of Letol scarves, and I wanted to let you know a little bit more about the company and how they are made.

Charlieu, France, is a small town in the north of Loire, an area with a weaving heritage which had declined over the past as so many textile companies moved out of France. In 2009 the society of Tissages de Charlieu was established and they created the Altertex label, which guaranteed an eco-responsible approach to the French and European textile industry.

With a desire to make a quality product with a “made in France” label, a group of designers created a line of scarves utilizing the traditional weaving techniques of the area and Letol was born. All Letol scarves are woven on double jacquard looms. Letol uses organic cotton yarns and eco-friendly dyes to the making of their scarves. In fact, Letol has received 5 environmental certifications. All design and manufacturing processes take place in France, in fact every scarf is produced in the atelier (workshop). Letol scarves are 3x less polluting than traditionally manufactured scarves. A Letol scarf is 100% recyclable, but who would want to recycle it? These scarves can be passed on for years to come.

Each year the Letol design team creates 2 collections, for Spring and Fall. Each design is unique, and a wide variety of colors are utilized in each scarf. There are patterns that appeal to women and men using a wide variety of motifs such as florals, geometrics, dots and lines in styles from heritage to modern. The combination of organic cotton yarns and the jacquard weave create a unique fabric that is soft and textured. The weaving process results in a reversible design. Another benefit of the weave, it creates a bit of an insulating affect, so it is warm even though it is cotton. If you have a sensitivity to wool this is a great option for you!

If you are looking for a unique, sustainable gift, for yourself or a friend, think about a Letol scarf. Shop Letol!
